Stock Valuation Snapshot

Look up a listed stock's key valuation multiples and 52-week range. These are factual figures to help you judge for yourself — Valarn does not give an over- or undervalued verdict.

How this is calculated

range position% = (price - low52) / (high52 - low52) x 100
price
latest traded price
low52 / high52
lowest and highest price of the past year

Worked example

A stock trading at $318.84 with a 52-week low of $224.69 and a high of $344.57 sits at (318.84 - 224.69) / (344.57 - 224.69) = 79% of its range. That is a factual position in past prices, not a signal.

Terms used here

P/E (Price-to-Earnings)
Share price divided by earnings per share. A rough gauge of how much investors pay for each dollar of profit. No earnings = no meaningful P/E.
Market Cap
The total value of all a company's shares (share price × shares outstanding). The market's overall price tag for the business.
Beta
How much a stock tends to move relative to the overall market. Above 1 = more volatile than the market; below 1 = steadier.

Common questions

What is a good P/E ratio?
P/E is only meaningful against a comparison — the same company over time, or its sector peers. A high multiple can reflect expected growth and a low one can reflect expected decline, so the number alone does not tell you whether a stock is cheap.
What does the 52-week range position mean?
It shows where the current price sits between the lowest and highest price of the past year, as a percentage. 0% is at the 52-week low, 100% at the high. It is a factual observation of price history, not a signal.
What does beta measure?
Beta compares a stock’s daily moves with the market’s over the past year. Roughly 1.0 means it has moved with the market, above 1.0 means larger swings, below 1.0 smaller. It describes past volatility, not future risk.
